If you’ve seen an email with one of these headlines, opened it and clicked the links, congratulations you are probably now infected with trojans and other malware. If you ever get one of these emails and are fascinated by the news they profess to contain, delete it and instead take a trip over to http://www.cnn.com http://www.bbc.co.uk or even http://www.news.com.au and get your news from an authentic source with almost zero risk of picking up anything nasty along the way.

Of course, if you have a decent and regularly updated antivirus and firewall protection if you had clicked one of these links it will have caught it and disabled it before it infected your PC.

If for some reason you haven’t yet got proper security in place, it isn’t too late. I have some security suites to recomend to you, they all perform well and the key to any of them is update them regularly. Simply purchase one of the following:

Norton Internet Security - I’ve had this in place for close to 10 years and is my personal choice. Some people claim it is too system intensive, let me tell you the latest releases are not anywhere near as system hungry as previous versions.

Trend Micro PC-Cillin
Another I have first hand experience with and found to be a good product.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus Products - extremely popular and excellent value for money as well.

BitDefender Internet Security 2008. Another very popular internet security suite.

Install it and then run a system scan to find and destroy the trojans, malware and spyware on your system. If you have surfed the net for more than a day without any security in place, you are almost guaranteed to have some of the above in your system.
